CBS’s ‘Rules of Engagement’ with its star, the intensely funny and sarcastic nice guy David Spade, has veteran actress Joan Collins guest starring tonight as his mother. Spade, who has been in the business for many years even though he doesn’t look it, pretty much went pro in 1990 when he got the Saturday Night Life gig and soon became unforgettable with his sketch of a flight attendant doing an unpleasant and sarcastic “Buh-Bye.” He then went on to movies and eventually earn Emmy and Globe nominations on the hit show ‘Just Shoot Me’ where he played Dennis, a sarcastic skirt chasing office assistant which lead to his character on ‘Rules of Engagement’ where he plays Russell, still a sarcastic skirt chasing single guy but he’s “just an older version and a little more beat up” Spade said. Spade, who had us all hysterically laughing on a media call last week with his witty and self-deprecating humor, also told me he watches ‘The Simpsons’ and is a but jealous of ‘South Park.’ ‘Rules,’ which is on at 8:30p tonight also guest stars Sara Rue as a surrogate for Jeff and Audrey.
