The amazingly talented and funny Frances McDormand hosted a couscous dinner for The Wooster Group’s 2015 Benefit, at The Performing Garage Monday night.
Based in New York City, the Group is a company of artists who make works for theater, dance, and media.
The hip New York crowd included benefit co-chairs: Laurie Anderson, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard, Juman Malouf and Wes Anderson, Maura Tierney, and Martha Wainwright who performed, as well as Louis C.K., Steve Buscemi, George Ahl, Yesim Ak, Paul Auster, Sharon Bush, Joel Coen, Donna Corbat, Michael Corbat, Elizabeth Diller, Brian Farley, Robert Gober, Laurie Hawkinson, Cynthia Hedstrom, Sam Hoffman, Siri Hustvedt, Elizabeth LeCompte, Robert Longo, Mateo Lopez, Gillian Miniter, Sylvester Miniter, Donald Moffett, Mark Morris, Ricardo (Ric) Scofidio, Cindy Sherman and Kate Valk. Sarah Jessica Parker and Norman Reedus were also benefit co-chairs.
After Chef Alejandro Alcocer of Green Brown Orange served a menu that included a mixed hummus platter, arugula salad, satur farms vegetables tagine, roasted leg of lamb over couscous, and a lamb merguez, Martha Wainwright sang Edith Piaf during dessert.
