The 62nd Viennese Opera Ball’s co-chairs Silvia Frieser and Michael Pecnik and Executive Committee member Laine Siklos hosted a Private Champagne Reception at The Penn Club to celebrate the formation of the ball that will be held on February 10 at the Waldorf Astoria under the auspices of the U.S. Austrian Chamber of Commerce.

The oldest white tie charity gala in New York, this year the Ball will celebrate the 150th anniversary of Austria’s unofficial national anthem, Johann Strauss’ Blue Danube Waltz.

Guests will travel from around the world to attend the prestigious event, and dance the waltz in the Grand Ballroom, with a hope of seeing a white horse drawn carriage.

Attendees included: Eva Chickering, Georg Heindl, Rachel Hickey, Wina Huang, Steven Knobel, Ulrich Kopetzki, Leah Lane, Deborah Levine, Maggie Norris Nicole Noonan, Elif Menet, Cole Rumbough, Maja Sponring, Allie Sutherland, Eva Trenker and Christian Von Uffel.

Over 700 guests are expected to attend to watch 16 debutantes and their white-tie clad escorts. The Ball Committees and Ball Beneficiary will be announced in due course.

Kenzo Digital, the artist known for his groundbreaking work and use of technology in projects with the likes of Beyoncé and Kanye West, flipped the traditional concept of a haunted house on its head and created a multi-sensory experience at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Sports Illustrated stunner Kate Upton and her pro-baseball pitching fiancé Justin Verlander were among the guests at the sixth annual LACMA Art + Film Gala held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art over the weekend.

Presented by Gucci and co-chaired by Eva Chow and Leonardo DiCaprio, and known as one of L.A.’s glitziest art fundraisers with the art world and Hollywood luminaries in attendance, this year’s honorees were artist Robert Irwin and Oscar winning director Kathryn Bigelow. Last year’s benefit raised over $4 million dollars.

Demi Moore, Melanie Griffith, Zoe Saldana, Jennifer Tilly, Gwyneth Paltrow, Laura Dern, Liberty Ross, China Chow, James Corden, Salma Hayek, David O. The annual evening is a celebration of fashion and style, and renowned for its star-studded guest list, unpredictable live auction and unrivalled success in generating funds for lifesaving AIDS research.

The Foundation for AIDS Research, offered guests the opportunity to receive a personalized Belvedere Bespoke bottle with a $500 donation going directly to AIDS research.

It was a star-studded 15th Anniversary for the Jazz Foundation of America‘s annual ‘A Great Night in Harlem’ gala at the Apollo Theater.

The night’s performers included John Mayer, Steve Jordan, Joe Morton, Dr. John and Bruce Willis, with a special tribute to Dr. John and McCoy Tyner.

The Jazz Foundation works to keep jazz and blues alive by helping musicians who have played with everyone from Duke Ellington and Billie Holiday to Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones, and they assist with more than 5000 cases a year nationwide.

Power Couple Donate Plaza Wedding Registry to Charity

Founder and CEO of Education Model Towns, Ernesto Argüello, married fellow philanthropist Ashley Taylor Cooper at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York a few weeks ago followed by a magical celebration in front of 400 people at the iconic Plaza Hotel.

It was an extraordinary night with a champagne reception in the Palm Court, cocktails in the Terrace Room, Wedding Dinner & Reception in the Grand Ballroom, as well as Aerialists, Gogo dancers, Mariachi, Samba dancers, Beat boxers, Cocktail coquettes and a musical performance by 10 year old Instagram star Vivian Hicks.

Beyoncé’s sought-after florist, Dieter van Beneden for Vert-de-Gris had custom made the decorations adorning the Hotel, and the cake was provided by no other than celebrity cake-maker Sylvia Weinstock.

This couple really live to give back; their wedding registry was strictly donations which will be used to build a new educational center for underprivileged children, and they did not accepting any gifts. Said Ashley, “So many people really need the basics of life and we don’t NEED anything!” Donations are still accepted via Crowdrise. Ernesto’s Education Model Towns builds entire communities and education centers from the ground up in the most impoverished areas in Latin America, offering the locals a home and a safe community.

Ernesto and his life-changing organization also donates schools, security, after school programs and sports development programs, nutritional programs and clean water, as well as promoting by entrepreneurship opportunities to the locals. Ashley and Ernesto, co-founders of Snap2Live, have also partnered with the United Nations as spokespeople for road safety, in order to help address the number one killer of youth in the world.
