Superstar Jennifer Aniston was honored in Italy with the Giffoni Experience Award during the Giffoni Film Festival over the weekend.

Who better than the 47-year old actress, acting since 1988, and who rose to mega-fame after her role as Rachel in the NBC hit series Friends, to receive an award based on show business experience and life lessons.

During the festival, Aniston talked about many various topics with the GFF jurors including self esteem, perseverance, sexism, bullying, what kind of roles she prefers, and what’s wrong with the Hollywood film industry.

Having grown in popularity after Friends, it wasn’t always easy. “How many times I wanted to quit! – she revealed – There’ve been many times of frustration, you know when you feel frustrated with directors or when sometimes you just think that being an actor is almost too much too bear. This happens especially if you’re too sensitive. But acting is my passion and I don’t believe in quitting. I believe in perseverating and overcoming, always fighting!”.

She also affirmed she would certainly act as a spokesperson when it comes to what’s wrong with Hollywood film industry, explaining that the courage to speak must never fail: “I believe in the power of conversation and we also need to empower women because they’re not just dresses and selfies. This discussion has already started on media and tabloids. However, we must put phones down and have conversations. We need to empower each other and treat each other as equals. It’s all about equality”. Keeping talking about social issues, the actress also got the chance to launch an appeal: “You have to support each other and eliminate bully people, isolate them! – she exhorted – Now with the Internet there are a bunch of anonymous bullies. Internet is filled with it. It’s about not allowing them to penetrate”.

Then, the conversation shifted to her personal career in the film industry and the kind of role she prefers and how she relates to the parts she plays in her real life: “I like being a little bit creative and a little bit precise at the same time – she affirmed – I think it’s all about the different characters I play”. Of course, jurors couldn’t drop her role in Friends from their questions: “I’m grateful for Rachel in Friends. I feel she’s wonderful. The show was a great gift to us as actors and a wonderful thing to all of you”.

Held at the Hamptons home she shares with her husband Martin Gruss, the party was attended by guests such as Southampton Mayor Mark Epley, Scott Snyder, Lis and Richard Waterman, Kim Heirston Evans, Mai Hallingby-Harrison, and Whitney Fairchild.

Surrounded by beautiful white hydrangea blooms set at the Gruss’ pool, Audrey thanked guests for attending and said “HDRF’s research mission is so critical, and I am so grateful to everyone for showing their support by committing to walk on July 30th.” She continued to say that the Walk of HOPE has “over 200 people committed, with two weeks left to go.”

Gruss founded HDRF in April 2006 in memory of her mother Hope, who struggled with clinical depression. Every dollar raised goes directly to research.

Mayor Mark Epley, who is opening the Walk of Hope, then remarked that HDRF is a true leader in the field of depression research, and that he is “looking forward to taking part in the Walk.”

The three-mile Walk of Hope to Defeat Depression will circle a beautiful route around Lake Agawam in Southampton Village.  The Walk will be led by Audrey Gruss to raise awareness and funds for advanced depression research. After the Walk, top retailers in town like Theory and Jennifer Miller will take part in Shop for Hope, where stores up and down Main Street and Jobs Lane will open their doors to customers and donate a percentage of sales to HDRF’s advanced research.

Shop for Hope will run from 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.

Andi Dorfman Becomes Famously Single

Andi Dorfman

Former Assistant District Attorney turned Bachelorette star Andi Dorfman has come a long way since her days living quietly in Georgia.

After her and Bachelorette contestant Josh Murray ended their engagement, the reality doyenne gave up the law, became a New York Times bestselling author, and has been seen all over the New York area enjoying the spotlight.

Most recently, Dorfman was out celebrating a girlfriends weekend at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City.

The ladies sipped cocktails at Borgata’s brand new Outdoor Pool and Beer Garden before dining on sushi at Borgata’s Japanese restaurant, Izakaya.

Dorfman then danced the night away at the property’s state-of-the-art $14 million club, Premier which launched earlier this summer.

No surprise they broke up, Murray is currently starring on E! Entertainment’s Famously Single reality dating series and showing himself to be a shallow ladies man.
