    Le Cirque’ Bastille Day Luncheon turns somber

    Jean Shafiroff hosted a Bastille Day Luncheon for close friends including CeCe Black at NYC’s Le Cirque Restaurant to honor the French national holiday, Bastille Day, celebrating the unity of the French people after the Storming of the Bastille prison in Paris, France in 1789.

    As the philanthropist and author, a board member of the French Heritage Society in New York City, spoke passionately against the Paris terror attacks that occurred last November, little did she know moments after her luncheon, there would be another terrorist attack this time in Nice, France. On an annual day of celebration, when French people should feel proud and unified, fear rippled through the country after the tragedy.

    Top Chef All-Stars Winner Richard Blais Cooks Up New Kitchen Appliances

    BRAVO and Food Network personality, Chef Richard Blais, partnered with BLACK+DECKER and George Foreman to debut several new products – the BLACK+DECKER Performance Convection Countertop Oven, George Foreman Grill & Broil and the BLACK+DECKER 11 Cup Dicing Digital Food Processor.

    Chef Blais created delicious dishes for the crowd including Pineapple & Jicama Salsa, Onion & Goat Cheese Tarts and Turkey Steak with Cranberry Mole, all which were created using the new appliances.

    Inaugural Fitness focused Event HEALTHY GURU kicks off with Carlos Leon

    Fitness pro Carlos Leon of Belleon Body private training studio was a guest speaker at the inaugural fitness, fashion, beauty and nutrition event, Healthy Guru, presented by Social Life and SHAPE magazines last Saturday at Southampton Arts Center.

    Hosted by Co-Founders Carrie Brudner and Justin Mitchell, over 350 people attended, with Veronica Webb helping to kickoff the all day event where guests were able to take part in a selection of fitness classes from top trainers including Marvil Fit, Pure Barre, Exhale Spa, Pure Yoga OMG Meditate, Ripped, JBYoga and DanceBody.

    Awesome prizes were raffled off to benefit The Max Cure Foundation for pediatric cancer causes, and a portion of all proceeds benefited the Southampton Arts Center.

    The event closed with a cocktail party powered by Celebrity DJ CHEF “The Chef That Rocks!” and Cutthroat Kitchen Champion, Marc Weiss, and a fashion show by JUJA Active, which featured actress and style guru, Rachel Heller, and a selection of Click Models.

    Legendary Band Kool & the Gang Announce “SEXY” New Single and New Tour

    Stoli Elit Ultra Luxury Vodka provided cocktails mixed with refreshing and flowery Belvoir Fruit Farms lemonades, as well as Ballerinas to entertain guests while mingling with the artists of the upcoming Accessible Art Fair inaugural New York edition.

    A concept originating from Brussels by Founder Stephanie Manasseh, The Accessible Art Fair breaks with traditional art boundaries and artists are in direct contact with an art buying public as well as art influencers.

    Newly retired pro- basketball player Kobe Bryant brought his two daughters Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant and Natalia Diamante Bryant, as well as pregnant wife Vanessa to the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Sports Awards last week where he received a Legend Award and a good sliming to go with it.

    After the former Laker star finished his speech, he got doused in gold slime.

    The two are expecting their third daughter.

    Sandra Lee Gives Powerful Speech at Cancer Research Benefit ‘A Hamptons Happening’

    The happening event last weekend in the Hamptons was the 12th Annual A Hamptons Happening marking the 40th Anniversary of the founding of the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) by noted oncologist and cancer researcher Samuel Waxman, MD.

    The benefit at the residence of Maria and Kenneth Fishel, featured 40 of the top chefs and restaurants in New York City and the Hamptons and hosted by CBS 2 News anchor Chris Wragge .

    Honorees included the Governor’s gal Sandra Lee, a philanthropist, Emmy winning television personality, New York Times best-selling author and breast cancer survivor; Jayma Cardoso, Founder of the Surf Lodge in Montauk; and Deirdre Quinn, CEO of the luxury fashion company Lafayette 148 New York.

    Lee captivated the audience with a powerful testimonial of her high-profile battle with breast cancer last year. She said she is cancer free and credited the medical team at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York for their excellent treatment of her. She noted that the work of the SWCRF is unique in that it requires funded scientists to share their findings with other researchers in order to advance the development of cancer treatments. Following Sandra’s speech, honorees Jayma Cardoso and Deirdre Quinn were welcomed to the stage, where Dr. Waxman presented them crystal awards from Orrefors in thanks for their support for this year’s benefit.
