ELLEN LEAVES IDOL

After one season of American Idol, newest and fourth judge Ellen Degeneres has voted herself off Fox’s number one show, Popeater.com just reported. After releasing a statement today, she tweeted, “Dim the lights….I’ve voted myself off American Idol. “ The statement read, “A couple months ago, I let Fox and the ‘American Idol’ producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me.” She went on to say, “It was a difficult decision to make but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on “Idol” and I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.” Ever since Fox refused to pay lovable, original judge Paula the money she asked for and deserved, the show has been on a downward spiral. Then Simon wasn’t happy. Then Ellen came but she never should have, one hit show is plenty. Then Simon left. And Ellen soon followed. Dumb Dumb Dumb. Bitter pill to swallow.

There’s a new community of Real Housewives coming to town and they mean business. ‘The Real Housewives of D.C.’ which debuts next Thursday, August 5th at 9pm promises the beltway to be bigger, better and bolder than Bravo’s current screaming yenta housewives. Here’s the scoop on three of the starring women. Mary is a socialite who takes care of her five children and then in her spare time does volunteer work for various charities. She is also the gal that while on our phone interview had to hang up abruptly because one of her sons threw a baseball through the window. Stacy on the other hand, has a Harvard MBA, a successful real estate practice, a charity that she started from scratch and is a wife and mother of two. Then we have one half of the Washington ‘Party Crasher’s,’ Michaela Salahi. Need I say more? I guess we need to tune in next week to see what the other two Housewives are all about. Political drama here we come.

TV IS THE NEW MOTION PICTURE

TV is the new motion picture. That’s’ right. Are you an actor? Forget film, tell your agent you want a TV role. Years ago if you were a film actor or g-d forbid a movie star and wanted a role on TV, you were frowned upon and they threatened to take your SAG card away. Today, it’s a whole new bag of corn. Not only do you forgo movies all together and reach for the tube stars, you reach for a guest role and pray for a continuance or better yet an Emmy nod. TV stars today make more money than most movie stars accept of course for the chosen few who rake in all the bucks. TV is the new motion picture.

Jerry Garcia Movie in the Works

Source:Unknown

The producers behind “Little Miss Sunshine” along with Eric Eisner, son of Hollywood Mogul Michael Eisner, are doing a movie about Jerry Garcia that will chronicle the life of the music idol before joining the band that made him a household name. Rolling Stone said it will be based on Robert Greenfield’s book ‘Dark Star,’ with interviews from family, friends and colleagues and because it takes place prior to The Grateful Dead days, its music will not be featured. Instead, Greenfield said the soundtrack will be filled with “bluegrass, folk ballads and jug band music” that was influential at the time.
