    Madonna’s Daughter Lourdes En Vogue

    Madonna’s like a designer and her daughter is getting into the groove.  Lourdes Leon, the absolutely styling and fashion savvy daughter of Madonna and one time hot boyfriend Carlos Leon, is the new creative director so to speak of Madonna’s new clothing line ‘Material Girl’ being sold exclusively at Macy’s in August. The 13 and ¾ year old young teenager has been sitting in on some meetings and giving her superstar mom fashion tips and suggestions towards the new line which will be women’s and junior’s. This is not the first time Madonna has ventured into design. She had a brief collection at H&M years ago that was cool and chic. The Material Girl Collection will be designs inspired by Madonna’s early days with all her funky and groovy looks, and the junior collection is Lourdes inspired and affordable.     Twilight Eclipsed Midnight Box Office

    ‘Twilight Eclipse,’ which opened last night at midnight, brought in more than $30 million and became the all-time highest grossing- picture ever for midnight runs according to Variety. This third installment beat out the last Twilight, ‘New Moon’ for the late night trophy which grossed $26.3 million. Summit Pictures executives will be buying extra hot dogs for the barbeque this July 4th weekend.

    ‘Kardashian Khaos’ Coming to Vegas Mirage

    The Kardashian sisters and matriarch momager Kris Jenner extend their brand even further and open ‘Kardashian Khaos,’ a new retail shop at The Mirage in Las Vegas. Kardashian Khaos will open at The Mirage August 21st and sell products that they either own or endorse. During a press conference at The Mirage with hotel Prexy Scott Sibella, they said the store will be a much different concept than their current clothing store Dash in Cali and Miami. Also in on the action will be LA based women’s health and fitness company Bravada, and handling all the marketing will be TLK Fusion Entertainment. Sounds like they should invest in a fleet of trucks next to carry home all the money they will be making.

    LARRY KING RETIRING

    After weeks of major speculation, Larry announced his retirement via twitter and also at the start of his show’s taping tonight. King basically said, that after 25 years of doing ‘Larry King Live’, he told the guys at CNN that he would like to end the show and they graciously accepted. He stated, “Giving me more time with my wife and I to get the kids’ to little league games.” Larry will still be part of the CNN family, hosting several specials. Rumors were speculating that after all the public turmoil with King and his wife and her sister, that maybe it was just too much heat for CNN and time for Larry to go. Unfortunately, in this business of show, whenever you give someone an opening and opportunity, the vultures come out. Many showbiz people have been waiting for Larry’s coveted spot. Plus, CNN needs to beef up their programming with some fresh faces and up the ratings. CNN said they would announce a replacement in the coming weeks. Larry King, who will leave in the fall, is a class act and had a great run. Hopefully, the suits at CNN pick a winner.

    The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

    Film Director and writer Gore Verbinski, best known for directing The Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy and The Ring, looks to be inking a deal with Twentieth Century Fox to direct the long-awaiting, “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” Variety is reporting. “Mitty” is Author James Thurber’s best known short story, about a man who seeks escape from reality through daydreaming. This sounds like a role for Jim Carey.

    Just saw a screening of ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ and it was awesome. It’s got Edward and Bella of course and Jacob, who is shirtless for most of the movie. Then you add the vampires and werewolves, plus suspense, love, danger, romance, murder, darkness, excitement, mystique and action and you have the much anticipated third installment of the super popular Twilight series. It opens Wednesday and it will be huge. Madonna’s right arm, and Hollywood big shot Guy Oseary is one of the executive producers.

    Publicity Maven Lizzy Grubman who was lunching at Fred’s at Barney’s and noshing on French fries, was stick thin and looked like she should have had a burger to go with those fries. Back in January, Bonnie Fuller’s http://hollywoodlife.com broke the story that Lizzy was having a “hush hush” lunch with music manager Larry Rudolph and a future partnership could be in the works. Larry is infamous for managing Britney Spears and Lizzy, who branched out into management, now reps Shanna Moakler and Jersey Shore DJ, Pauly D among others. ‘I haven’t heard a peep since. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if these two will make beautiful music together.

    Page Six Grabs Tara Palmeri

    Any skirt that would have the moxie to call out bad boy Sean Penn on his deep dislike for journalists belongs at Page Six. So it’s no surprise that Tara Palmeri, who did just that, is headed right to New York to join the New York Post. A gossip writer for the Washington Examiner, Palmeri will take over for Neel Shah, who is moving to Hollywood to write for TV and who made a brief appearance on MTV’s ‘The City.’ She told Fishbowl/DC, a sister site to Mediabistro.com, “I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to discover my love for gossip reporting at the Examiner, but New York is calling.” Wait until she sees who else is calling. Congratulations are an order.
