I guess after appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show during ‘Oprah Fridays Live,’ Jenny made such an impression on the big O that she has since signed her to develop her own show. Whether it’s for her new TV network OWN, no one is saying and Harpo Productions have been very tight lipped (don’t know why) about it. However, a Harpo spokeswoman told the New York Post, “We do have a development deal with Jenny McCarthy. We are exploring possibilities across a number of platforms.” Besides appearing on Oprah’s Friday panel a few times, Jenny also appeared as a guest with then boyfriend, superstar Jim Carey. Rumors have swirled for a while that Jenny and Oprah we’re going into business together and that she was formatting some sort of talk show. Exactly what Jenny will do and when, where, why and how is unknown. What we do know about Jenny is that she’s a playboy model, actress, comedian, author and activist and she’s very cool, very passionate, very outspoken and very much loves to talk. Sounds like the makings of a sexy and controversial talk show.

Father and son twins for the day, also took the time to visit a firehouse while in Manhattan. The hot Hollywood couple also has a 5 ½ month old daughter, Vida.
Hargitay’s Husband
Peter Hermann, the tall and handsome husband of Law & Order’s SVU star Mariska Hargitay, walking up 3rd Avenue in the 60’s casually. The same day, Mariska was seen across town hanging out with best buddy Hilary Swank, near the set of the movie she’s producing starring Kate Hudson, ‘Something Borrowed.’ Hermann, an actor himself, has appeared on Law & Order SVU many times and Mariska who plays tough and ambitious yet emotional Olivia Benson, is in her eleventh season. The Golden Globe winner Hargitay, is also the daughter of 1950’s screen legend and sex symbol Jayne Mansfield, who also won a Golden Globe Award in 1957 for Most Promising Newcomer/Actress. Mariska, who is also involved in various causes, has an interesting personal and inspirational website called http://mariska.com.
Carl Icahn Raiding Lions Gate
Corporate raider Carl Icahn is attempting to take over independent movie studio Lions Gate. Billionaire Icahn may be buying minority shareholder Mark Cuban’s small percentage of stock around 6%, therefore sending him on his way to being Lions Gate largest shareholder at over 20%. It’s not a done deal yet but in an interview on CNBC last week, Cuban said, “I really think I’m going to tender. I have my reasons I don’t want to get into. But I think it’s the right move for right now and the right move for the long term for the company and for me.” In an open letter to the board of directors and CEO Jon Feltheimer, Icahn expressed his deep anger towards the current management and his fear for the future of the company. And he wants to know why management claims “record performances” with no cash flow and the stock in decline. He also made references to the CEO’s overspending, the lavish new offices, their huge salaries and a few mentions of the Bentley driven by the underperforming CEO, Feltheimer. Icahn proceeded with, “As a shareholder, I’m forced to ask how much longer this board of directors will allow the party in the management suite to continue.” If Icahn, who has been fighting with management for over a year, is able to get Dallas Maverick’s Billionaire owner’s shares, then he will be able to replace the board and hire a whole new team. Lions Gate is the distributor behind Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl’s new movie the Killers, which is in theatres now. I didn’t see the movie but I have seen the posters all over town promoting the movie, and if Feltheimer had anything to do with those, then he along with the marketing department should all be shown the door.

Mike Nichols Gets A-List Achievement Award
Mike Nichols, who directed some of the most memorable and classic movies ever made, was honored by the American Film Institute last week and all the stars came out. Julia, Oprah, Warren, Cher, Meryl and Jack, (who famously showed up late after the Laker game) are some who came out to honor the Academy Award winning Director, who also has an Emmy, Grammy and a Tony. The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to honor someone for his lifetime contribution to enriching American culture through motion pictures and television. A few of his awesome movies include, The Graduate, Silkwood, Catch 22, Regarding Henry, Closer and Working Girl. Nichols attended the ceremony with his ABC news journalist wife, Diane Sawyer. Jodie Foster Champions Back
Two- time Oscar winner, very private movie star and protective mother Jodie Foster taught a 17 year old paparazzo guy a lesson recently, when he aggressively followed her and her kids throughout the day. The paparazzo, whose parents apparently allow him to be in the hard- core and dangerous game of stalking movie stars, cried foul and ran to the police when the exclusive movie star told him to get lost. The paparazzo’s father allegedly told police that Foster came after his son and “poked him in the chest” and “pushed and shoved him.” Foster’s rep said “the guy’s behavior was completely inappropriate” and the police report filed by the family is “a fabrication of the incident.” However, the family told RadarOnline.com that they understand that people make mistakes in the heat of the moment,” adding that they don’t want money just “an apology.” Someone please tell the paparazzo’s father that his son should have a job suitable for a 17 year old, while he gets ready for college, and that suing celebrities is not a career for a father. If you can’t stand the heat Dad, get your family out of the kitchen.
